Visco Memory Foam Beds

Prior to the 1990’s memory foam was only available in hospitals and sports equipment but in 1991 it became available to the public in the form of a bed mattress. A memory foam mattress is made out of visco-elastic polyurethane foam, and has come to be known as memory foam because of certain properties that it has. The main one of these is that it is known to mold to the human body and be much more flexible in giving support. Originally a memory foam mattress was advertised as an advisable purchase for anyone with orthopedic problems, as it takes pressure off of bones, but nowadays it has become slightly cheaper to produce and so has developed more mass market appeal.

The Heating process during manufacture makes the mattress last longer and hold the shape of the body. The remainder of the lower mattress remains supportive as it retains a cooler temperature. It is extremely comfortable and allows for you to sleep naturally and move around because of the versatile nature of the foam.   Because of this support, no matter what position you assume, your spine will automatically correct itself. (being different from the typical spring mattress, which could be very firm) and so help prevent any aches due to bad sleeping position.

Memory foam mattress’ are fantastic for people with allergies connected with dust mites because the mites cannot live in the foam. It can, of course, still harbor them though as long as they get a regular supply of dead skin cells to feed on.

Memory foam mattresses are sort of a halfway point between the comfort of a soft mattress and a support of a hard mattress. While they often times cost somewhat more than a basic mattress they are still money well spent because of their durability. Selecting the correct individual mattress is certainly a daunting task since there are several things to think about like brand, cost, and size.
